Covenant

This is the Biblical story of God's covenant with Abraham as taking place in my fantasy re-imagining of Mexico, called Indrahiyah. As Abraham sleeps, God passes between a line of halved animals as a pillar of fire. This was a symbol in those days of promising to fulfill the terms of the covenant; if the person going between the animals should fail to keep the vow, then may what happened to the beasts be done to them. The split animals are symbolized by the two halves of the circle, decorated with the countless stars of Abraham's descendants.
