Reverence

Unicorns have appeared in stories around the world, from a symbol of Christ in the early European church, to the discerning dragon-unicorn (the kirin) of Japan. There's the fierce Persian karkadann and the prophetic Chinese qilin. There are the symbolism-rich unicorn tapestries, and the Scottish national animal is a unicorn. There are so many strange and complex stories, both historical and contemporary, revolving around this beautiful - and sometimes, not so beautiful - and elusive creature.

It has now been reduced to a rainbow-farting horse-with-a-horn reserved for little girls and meme-makers.
